I'm originally from Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. I first moved to the Vail Valley in 1994, spent the last 6 years in Austin, TX, and have now gratefully returned to my beloved Colorado home. I am a single parent to Liam, age 9, who is in the third grade. In my free time I love snowboarding, hiking, yoga, working with animals, and any and all adventures...especially travel...with my son!
I have a BA in Political Science and Women’s and Gender Studies from Eckerd College, a Project Management certification from Consulting Solutions, as well as a Music teacher certification. I have worked for years in the Vail Valley in wine and spirits distribution and project management, but the work I have done with children in various capacities for over 25 years is truly my "happy place." I've worked with all ages and abilities: from newborns through young adults, with gifted children, kids on the Autism spectrum, and those for whom English is a second language. I've coached soccer, swimming, and snowshoeing, spent several years with the Special Olympics, and have tutored in several subjects. I am the new theater director for Homestake Peak middle school, and will be putting on “The Little Mermaid” in April 2018.
Growing up, I attended St Matthews UMC in Northern Virginia, where I participated in the choir, youth group, and spent nine years with a touring English handbell concert choir. In addition to concerts throughout the Northeast, I played in massed ringing festivals every summer, and performed at the White House, the National Air and Space Museum, the Kennedy Center, and DAR Constitution Hall. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring children's ringing to ERPC, and hope to have many of your children join.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the ERPC family. I am excited to work with your children each week, exploring God's message of love for us in Sunday school through music, play, love, and laughter.
