Why Serve/Partner

Why Serve/Partner?

You’re needed!

If you’ve been served by ERPC, whether it be through greeters on Sundays, teachers in your child’s ERPC Kids classrooms, enjoying a cup of coffee or tea before service, musicians on stage leading us in worship, or any number of other ways – chances are you’ve been served by a faithful volunteer giving up time and talent to serve Jesus by serving you.

At ERPC, we intentionally keep our budget and staff small and rely on a huge community of volunteers who love Jesus and love to serve his church.  We place a huge emphasis on volunteering. We demonstrate our love for others and our love for God by serving in our communities and in our local church. We believe the local church is the hope of the world and we desire to partner with it in any way we can.

We’re always in need of more help.  If you consider ERPC your church, we ask you to serve as a volunteer. By doing so, you’re an essential part of helping others meet Jesus. And if you’re a member, you’ve committed to serve generously as part of your membership covenant.

We’re committed to discovering our gifts and talents, being equipped to serve, and engaging in volunteer opportunities with a servant’s heart. We want you to find the one that best suits your passion, personality, and availability.  We strive to have rotations for most of our positions so that not one person or group is expected to carry too much weight.

As followers of Christ we are called to be humble servants of one another (Galatians 5:13, 1 Peter 4:10, Philippians 2:1-7). And where the people of God respond to meet the needs of others around them, the church thrives.

THE JAMES 2:17 PROJECT

WHAT IS THE JAMES 2:17 PROJECT?

James 2:17 asserts that “our faith without works is dead”. The James 2:17 Project is exploring where “your deep gladness and the world’s great hunger” meet. Our church is a place not only to feed you spiritually but to equip you with ways to serve Christ in our community of faith and the community around us. Please take time to prayerfully read through the opportunities to serve that are within our church family and begin the journey of stepping into your own James 2:17 Project. It may be that you want to serve in a way not listed in this brochure. That is okay and we would love to hear about new ministries that you feel led to begin or get involved in. We will help!
