Free Community Dinner

Free Community Dinner

We call this program “Loaves and Fishes Café.”  Every Wednesday we serve dinner from 6:00 to 7:00 in our church’s fellowship hall. Dinner is open to the public and all are welcome to join us for a delicious homemade meal! This is a totally volunteer effort, run by a team of 4 to 6 volunteers every Wednesday. We serve an average of 25-30 dinner guests each Wednesday. Just as Jesus welcomed all to his table, we welcome all to ours.

We need volunteers each Wednesday who take responsibility for food prep, room set up, serving, and clean up. The menu generally consists of a protein main dish, green salad, beverages, fresh fruit and dessert. We need volunteers with willing hands to help with such things as table and chair set up, washing dishes, and vacuuming. We also welcome donations of food. Food expenses can be reimbursed when receipts are turned in.

Additionally, Loaves and Fishes Café has been a way for others in our wider community to serve. We welcome outside groups who want to host a dinner. Schools, other churches, nurses, police officers, restaurants, groups of friends are some of the people who have hosted dinners in the past. If you are looking for a service project, please get in touch with us.

Spread the word to anyone in the community that we are here every Wednesday serving dinner to whomever needs a hot meal for whatever reason.

We also welcome food and financial donations at any time.
